I remember Twoheys in the '50's. My best friend in the second grade Robert Bassett and his mom took me there for lunch on his 7th Birthday in 1954. We had grilled cheese sandwiches (they had a slice of pickle on the top) and milkshakes. It made me feel like a real adult to go to a restaurant in the middle of a school day! We always got a kick out of the guy with a clothespin on his nose because of the onions!

I know this house well. I grew up down the street in the 1950's. At that time it was owned by Mr and Mrs MacDonald. They were Scottish and I believe Mr MacDonald was the silver curator at the Huntington Library. Their daughter, Mrs Griffin and her children Barbie and Johnny, who I played with often, lived there when Mr Griffin, who was in the service was deployed. The house at that time was a rich caramel creme color with dark tan trim and the upstairs windows had tan and brown striped awnings. The driveway area between the house and garage was raked loose gravel and there was a huge avocado tree planted there.
